THE PROJECT
As Product Manager for both Matesub and Matedub, my role was to guide their strategic evolution, improve user experience, and expand their market positioning. Matesub, being a public SaaS product, required a strong acquisition strategy, a refined pricing structure, and new features that could serve both professional and casual users. Matedub, on the other hand, being an internal platform, focused on supporting internal dubbing pipelines and enabling high-quality AI-driven audio generation.
My first step was to perform an in-depth competitor analysis. I examined how similar products handled pricing, per-minute charges, subscription tiers, free limitations, and the overall user journey. This allowed me to understand where Matesub was positioned in the market and what was missing to make the platform more competitive. Based on this research, I redesigned the pricing structure by calculating internal generation costs, analyzing usage data, interviewing users, and studying perceived value. The result was a more sustainable and scalable pricing model, including annual plans and more flexible minute-based structures.
At the same time, one of the biggest challenges for Matesub was the lack of SEO. I carried out a large-scale keyword study, analyzing thousands of search combinations across subtitles, language pairs, and audiovisual workflows. Starting from this research, I created highly optimized landing pages covering categories such as “audio to text,” “subtitle generator,” “video to subtitles,” and pairs like “Somali to English subtitles.” This significantly expanded our organic reach and placed Matesub into SERP spaces where it previously had no visibility.
Parallel to this, I worked intensively on the product experience. For Matesub, I introduced new editor features such as the ability to shift subtitles in bulk, allowing users to select a specific range — by subtitle index (e.g., subtitles 1–5) or by time (e.g., minute 1–5) — and move them forward or backward by a chosen amount of seconds. I also added the option to set a custom starting offset for videos, enabling them to start from minute 1 instead of minute 0 when needed. These features significantly improved the precision and flexibility of the subtitling workflow.
For Matedub, I collaborated with AI engineers to integrate generative features that allowed users to lengthen, shorten, or completely rewrite dubbing lines. The platform also included both synthetic voices and voice cloning technology, enabling users to generate dubbed content in their own voice or recreate specific speaker styles. These capabilities empowered much richer and more dynamic audio outputs.
A major technical milestone was the backend migration from Elastic Transcoder to AWS, which required coordination between multiple teams, careful planning, and extensive testing to ensure a smooth transition.
Finally, I supported the delivery of custom features for enterprise clients by translating their requirements into product specifications and integrating them into the platform workflow.

- +200% organic traffic growth in four months due to the SEO strategy;
- +10k new users per month for Matesub;
